Aquarium

The design concept for the public Aquarium aims to preserve the historic Victualling Yard Warehouse while creating a modern and engaging space for visitors. The first-floor restoration will maintain the warehouse’s character, respecting its architectural features. The addition of a second floor will provide facilities for the Aquarium, including fish care, a sea-view restaurant, function spaces, laboratories, and classrooms. The design minimizes visual impact and noise by integrating mechanical equipment within enclosed spaces. The research facilities promote collaboration and conservation programs. The second floor’s design harmonizes with the existing warehouse, preserving its character and considering the surrounding environment. Strategic placement of rooms maximizes views and maintains privacy for adjacent buildings.
