The Lathbury sports facility will house an Olympic size indoor swimming pool along with an athletics track and field. The primary uses will be for competitors and training for swimming and athletics, freeing up the existing GASA pool for leisure and the Victoria stadium for football. Secondary uses will be for football and rugby training and non-international matches. The construction is to house the pool and the facilities associated with “sporting excellence”, these are to include changing rooms, infirmary, coaching room, gymnasium, lecture room, board room, press area and associated offices. Spectators will be catered for with 800 seats outside for the track and field and 300 seats inside for the pool. Below the track and field are one and half levels of parking.
